Stu Macher Character Analysis: GET IT UP!!!!

Stu grew up living a lavish life due to his parents having jobs that make a substantial amount of money. He never had to worry about anything because he always got what he wanted no questions asked, especially since his parents were barely around to guide him. Instead they distracted him with whatever he desired so he wouldn't notice their absence, but he did. His older sister Leslie did her own thing, hung out with her friends, never paid any mind to Stu. Stu felt alone at home so he attached himself to friends in school but there was only one person who truly understood him and that was Billy Loomis. They connected on a deeper level, feeling lost apart but whole when together. They felt like brothers, with an unspeakable bond that only they understood.

Stu longed for popularity, he wanted a place that he felt he fit in so he decided to date Casey Becker. It didn't last very long, they had nothing in common and they both had wandering eyes for someone else. Casey was crazy about Steven Orth and Stu was flirting with Tatum Riley, they grew bored with each other so Casey broke it off when Steven asked her out. When the school found out, it embarrassed Stu, making him feel like he only needed Billy and no one else. Stu then started to date Tatum, lusting after one another, attached at the hip.

Billy and Stu watch movies together with their girlfriends, taking notes, it was fun. Both having trouble at home, they stick together finding solace in one another. Stu is then approached by a strange man, sharing a menacing plan that he has and it intrigues Stu. Roman knows the only way to get to Billy, is to get to Stu so he tells him enough of the plan to keep him interested. So Stu tells Billy about being approached by Roman but Billy turns it down, thinking it's ridiculous until Roman tells him about the affair between his father and Maureen Prescott. Vengeance surging through his veins, he accepts the plan to kill Maureen Prescott and to frame her new flame, Cotton Weary.

The plan goes accordingly, Maureen Prescott is murdered and they successfully frame Cotton Weary, while Roman walks away satisfied. So thinking it's over, they let a year go by and the one year anniversary inches closer. Bloodthirsty for more, they decide to go on another killing spree. Stu longs for more excitement with his best friend, Billy so they devise a plan starting with Stu's ex girlfriend, Casey. He wants Casey to pay for choosing Steve over him, walking down the high school halls, hand in hand, spiting him.

So they look for the perfect disguise, driving to every store until they find the ghost costume, it speaks to them, making them feel powerful but ominous at the same time. So they choose the night when they want to begin their murderous endeavor. They watch Casey, listening in on her conversations, overhearing that her parents would be out one night, so that's when they decide to do it. After football practice when Steve is alone, they manage to knock him out and take him to the Becker house. They play mind games with Casey over the phone and as her parents are coming back from a night out, Casey is murdered. They find her hanging from a tree.

The adrenaline rushes through Stu, being a bond with Billy that nothing could ever touch, knowing the power that they have over that small town. Stu felt invincible, feeling the fear from the town of Woodsboro, feeling like he is finally a part of something. They taunt Sidney, playing with her like cat and mouse until the time was right. They knew that Sidney would be the finale, that is what Billy wanted from the very beginning. Stu didn't understand but he played along because he just wanted that rush again while holding that knife.

To make a spectacle, they kill Principal Himbry, hanging him from the goal post to shame him in front of everyone. Stu has a party at his house, though not the best time to have a party, but hey, safer in numbers? Or so they think. Tatum claims to not be the beer wench but gets them more beer anyway, venturing ALONE into the garage. Thinking she was helping out her friends, she was only to be betrayed by someone she thought was her boyfriend. Stu had Billy kill Tatum, knowing that Stu was entertaining his friends, watching Halloween as Randy told the horror movie rules. Billy pops up out of nowhere as the party dies out, literally and figuratively.

Stu knew that he was in the back seat, he knew that Billy did all of the planning, so he did what Billy told him to do. It was a silent need, to have Billy's approval, there was a longing inside of Stu, to be seen through the eyes of Billy as accepted. Someone that Billy relied on in a sense as much as Stu relied on him, so he stopped at nothing to get that acceptance from Billy.

As the puzzle pieces came together, it was what they would call the finale, having Sidney all alone. They kidnapped Neil Prescott, Sidney's father on the night they killed Casey and Steve. Billy crawled into Sidney's window, to be the distraction, making her believe that he was frisky and wanted to fool around but really, he was just setting his plan into motion. As Billy distracted Sidney, Stu broke in and as Neil was about to go to sleep, he chloroformed him so he wouldn't make a sound. Roman stepped in and also decided to help, his revenge towards Sidney fueled him, Billy decided to take the heat, as his cellphone fell out of his pocket, forcing Sidney to believe that Billy couldn't be trusted.

Stu waited for Billy to be taken in to the police station and then took Neil's body to his house where no one was ever home. His parents were always away, leaving Stu to fend for himself, not knowing the weight of his actions and also not really caring either. When Sidney slept over at Tatum's house, Stu decided to mess with Sidney even more by calling Tatum's house. Sidney was then conflicted by who was really after her, not knowing that was both of them.

Now standing in Stu's kitchen, Billy staring at Stu with a bright smirk on his face, proud of the plan going smooth. Billy cracked and Stu was along for the ride, best friends until the very end, no matter the outcome. Billy stroked Sidney's hair, shaming her for sleeping with a psychopath and Stu mocking the said rules that Randy once recited only hours ago. Billy explained his motive, telling her about his mother leaving because of Sidney's mother having an affair with his father. Sidney stood in shock, color draining from her face and Stu was stunned, not knowing about the reason why Billy's mother left. Stu knew about the rumors that were whispered throughout the town about Sidney's mother, but he did not know that Billy's father was now added to the list of many men that Maureen had an affair with 'cause let's face it, she was no Sharon Stone after all...

Thinking that Neil Prescott was the perfect person to frame, with it being the one year anniversary of Maureen's death, they threw him to the kitchen floor. They placed the voice changer in his right pocket, planning to be survivors who get away with murder. So Billy first stabbed Stu so they had wounds believable enough to be victims, but Billy cut him too deep. Stu was feeling a little woozy here. But he took the knife, he stabbed Billy feeling a little zealous, continued to stab him. As Sidney was forced to watch the madness ensue right in front of her, she took the opportunity to outsmart the two psychos.

Stu was so worried that his parents were going to be so mad at him, his motive still remains somewhat of a mystery, We know Billy's motive but why did Stu commit the murders? He sarcastically explains that it was peer pressure that he was far too sensitive but his sarcasm speaks volumes. He wants so desperately to be seen more than a side kick to Billy but as Billy perceives it. He doesn't care what others think or say, he cares how Billy sees him. He wants to impress his best friend, he wants to be there for him, no matter the situation. Is he crazed? completely out of his mind? Absolutely but he perceives himself as someone who plays it safe all the time and for once, wants to do something that no one will see coming.

Billy gets shot and he is dead but Stu is still fighting to finish what they had started but Sidney puts up a fight. Stu with his sarcasm, smirking at her: "I've always had a thing for ya Sid" and then she kicks him, distracting him for the infamous tv smash to the face. It is rumored that there is a possibility that Stu could have survived this. Is it possible? Well, anything is possible. Could Stu be out there lurking in the shadows? Could he be waiting for the right moment to resurface? To haunt Sidney, to torture her and finally finish what he had started with his best friend, Billy? Well, even Stu says: "'Cause these days, you gotta have a sequel!!!"................

Only You miss on fact, Your last word, against popular fan believes, is best proof STU NOT BILLY killed Tatum.

"I wanna be in a SEQUEL!"

"You gotta be in a SEQUEL!"

Stu practically spit in fandom face Tatum last words to killer. Yet 90% was too slow catch that fact.
